FIRE PREVENTION & SAFETY
We not only put out fire, but we want to educate on the prevention of fires and help keep you, your family and friends safe! The Winona Lake Engine Company works hard all year long with programs geared towards all age groups with respects to fire prevention and safety. Each year our firefighters visit the schools. Through demonstrations and hands-on exercises they educate our youth. It is both fun for the kids as well as our firefighters. Our programs help our children learn how to handle emergencies and keep their families safe. According to the Home Safety Council’s State of Home Safety in America™ Report, fires and burns are the third leading cause of unintentional home injury and related deaths. Fire safety and survival begin with everyone in your household being prepared.
The U.S. Fire Administration would like to remind you of some important fire safety and prevention information.
